The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert in Brussels

The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert in Brussels are a complex of three commercial passages covered over their entire length by glazed arcades.

​They consist of:

• the Queen's Gallery
• the King's Gallery
• the Princes' Gallery

The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are the work of the architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar. Inaugurated in 1847, these galleries are among the oldest in Europe.

The Galerie du Roi houses the Royal Theater of Galleries, while the Galerie de la Reine houses the Vaudeville theatre, inaugurated in 1884 under the name of Casino Saint-Hubert.

Apartments occupy the first floor above the shops and performance halls which extend over the two banks of the exclusively pedestrian covered roadway which runs through the three passages.

​The Royal Galleries were proposed in 2008 for World Heritage listing and are on UNESCO's "tentative list" in the cultural heritage category
